Anyone know where to get a ZM80-A Platinum?

Anyone know where to get that VGA Heatpipe? I hear this platinum model is made to better fit 9800 Pros. Any help here would be awesome!! I'm new to this component shopping on the net!

I have seen the OEM Platinum HS (as supplied to Sapphire) on e*Bay. Too bad I already have the fugly gold one. There is no difference in the design.

Has anyone tried using this on a 9800 Pro? Or maybe even a 9700 Pro? Is there any advantage to this over the standard ATI heatsink/fan combo? Is this more efficient? As I mentioned I have a 256MB Radeon and I'm thinking of overclocking it, i want it to be as cool as possible without goign to liquid cooling

What stuff do I need to install this cooler, is it really risky to do this? Do I need some sort of heatsink removing goo? Or to remove residue once the heatsink is gone? How do I go about this? I dont want to *&%$ it up since this card costs quite a bit. I only have one chance at this 😉. If someone with one could give me some instructions that would REALLY REALLY help me out with deciding if I'm capable of making this upgrade!!! Thanks in advance!!!

Mine is on a 9500 which is physically the same as a 9700.

It is definitely more efficient than the stock HSF. I maxed out the R3DTweak core o'erclock slider while running benchmarks. Ambient temps and airflow in the case will contribute to the max I suppose but you can always cool the back heatsink with a large, slow fan for best effect and uber-low noise

I found the most difficult part was removing the stock plastic pins but maybe I didn't use the best technique because in a review I read it seemed simple. A plastic edge may be handy to scrape away any thermal tape that cannot be peeled off then use isopropanol 99% (aka rubbing alcohol) which can be had from any pharmacy aka drugstore aka chemist 😉

Rather than the supplied goo, I used a big tube of thermal compound I already had plus AS3 for the core only.

The instructions are very good so just take your time and I am sure it will go smoothly. You may also want to peruse a review with step by step pics to increase your familiarity with the task at hand -I believe there is a good one on frostytech.
