I recently aquired a Inno3D Savage 2000 for testing and I was surprised by how bad the drivers are, most of the supported features didn't even have a driver option to enable them.

Well, I can tell you one place not to look, and that is Diamond Legacy Support. The best they could do is tell me to check the install CD. Yeah, thanks Diamond. I hope one of the other links here work for you. I gave up on my ViperII and grabbed one of the VTek GF3Ti200 at the BestBuy Black Friday sale about a week after I got this email.

Virge, that's very odd. .. I checked that link and when you click on Savage 2000 the only drivers available are Linux?? But for Savage 4 there's a driver for every OS known to man...

S3, or should I say S3 Graphics, did actually release newer Windows 2000/XP drivers for the Savage2000 which supported OpenGL in WinXP and some of the display tools only a few months ago - but recently withdrew support altogether for the product. I personally think it was kind of an exercise to get the Savage 2000 working at least 1/2 right in Windows XP before they announced and released the new Savage XP chip.
Of course, as the Savage2000 is not actually an S3 Graphics product, they no longer needed to support the product so the drivers have been withdrawn.

Luckily, these drivers have been mirrored before S3 took them away and here is the direct link to probably the last ever Savage 2000 driver at the hastec site.

As for font corruption errors, you will probably find that turning down the acceleration slider under the display properties might help a fair bit, or limiting your motherboard to just operating on AGP 2x or without sidebanding.

Humm, you're right Bagger, I hadn't bothered taking a look. I just went dumpster diving, and I think I know why. The Savage2000 was "recalled" almost 2 years ago. S3 was doing an "under the table" deal where they would give out Viper770's for Savage2000's. That said, I think it's safe to call the Savage2000 junked.

I had already posted a link for the latest drivers above. Here's my suggestion for the Savage 2000. Open up your rubbish bin and throw it in, anything would be better than a Savage 2000.
