I'm looking to buy some for my truck... I've seen blue and I've seen red, but I don't know where to get them... I looked in JC whitney's catalog but haven't looked on their site. I'd like to get headlight covers that match the color of my truck... does anyone know where I might find Red headlight covers?

The illegal aspect aside, its annoying and its dumb to use them at night. I don't know many people that would intentionally make their headlights more dim by putting a cover on them. I just hate seeing that pesky road when I'm trying to look cool ;) Moral of the story, don't use 'em at night :D

The smoke colored ones are illegal at night also. The main reason for red ones being illegal is that everyone will think your headlights are tail lights........you do the math!

ask the cops, they'll tell you... :)

just get some paint and do your own. it's not as hard as you think! just a very thin light layer should do well... and it'll only cost you a couple of $'s.

Smoked headlight covers are not illegal per se. You have to be able to see the lights from 500ft away at night time. If you can't, then your lighting is illegal. So putting the headlight covers on could make them illegal, but if you put in super bright bulbs (which may melt your housings) you might be able to get away with em. (at least that's the way I understand the Georgia law, IANAL)

It's also illegal to display any color of light other than white or yellow on the front of your car unless you are an emegency vehicle. (again, that's how I understand the Georgia laws, again, IANAL)

Yeah I live in New york Perry their laws seem to be pretty much the same as Georgia's, not like it matters, I can't even find these light covers.
