guys I have a pny ti4200 which has bad caps 🙁
I wanted to replace em but I cant seem to find the correct spec caps anywhere, anyone know where I could find them ?

Someone here replaced there caps on there PNY 4200.

I cant remeber who it was, maybe they will see this.

On another note, my inno3D 4200's fan crapped out.:Q

I have some I can send you. They are actually good ones that I changed out when I replaced all on a PNY Ti4200 I had 🙂

Unfortunately there are some mosfets that also go bad too. But I did repair one card with only new caps and anotherone needed mosfets and caps and still one mosfet is still hotter than a pistol along with a few of the caps.

The large, standalone ones on a video card or motherboard are generally there for power/voltage regulation purposes (as are most of the capacitors).

Much, MUCH smaller CMOSFETS (Complimentary Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors) are the basic building blocks of (almost) every complex piece of digital electronics circuitry in use today. The "transistors" in CPUs and GPUs are CMOSFETS, for instance.

If you know the rating and type of the capacitor, you can order a replacement and solder it where the old one is/was. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, any TV/VCR/electronics repair shop should be able to make the repair, generally for less than $50. That said, if you're going to pay someone to do it, it might be easier to just buy a new video card, considering how slow the Ti4200 is at this point.

look for the specs on the caps, mine are 6.3v 1000uf
