Anyone know where I can get a free SSL cert?

I'm needing one for an organizational page and have no money to put toward it. Any advice on a good free one that's accepted in FF and IE?

AFAIK there aren't any free ones that will be trusted by FF or IE. You can get a cheap one for ~$15/year from someplace like Namecheap, but if you really have zero budget your only option is a self-signed cert which will produce warnings (and is susceptible to man-in-the-middle attacks unless the cert is distributed to users beforehand).

This is for a non-profit page that I'm creating. (school organization)

I know there are free trusted certs by a few companies for education, but technically we wouldn't qualify.... I can mint as many certs as I want...but yeah....they won't be trusted.

I was just hoping there was a generous company out there that someone knew about...it was worth a shot. 😛
