Anyone know when the SBLive2 is coming out?

And please don't say there are better cards or whatever, I'm just curious to see what creative has to offer, chances are I won't be buying one.

I'm not sure when it's coming out, but I believe it's called Audigy.

Do a search for Creative Audigy and you'll find all sorts of info and speculation on it. Here are a few...

Ahh Audigy....interesting...
Audio Prodigy?

Sounds kinda lame to me...thanks for the tip though.

Ed: hehehe the Register thinks it comes from Audio Energy...now which sounds stupider...mine or theirs? Both pretty damn bad...

you know...I know a lot of people say bad things about creative...but they really did do important things for the sound card market. People are so quick to turn on successful companies...if nForce fails then people will want Nvidia's head on a pike.

Creative has done a lot for the sound card industry. Their current offerings are lagging behind in features and quality.
But hey who am I kidding, I run onboard sound right now.

Perhaps the SBLive2 will be a good product, in which case I will buy it. That's why I want to know what they are offering.

But at the moment Creative is not the best sound card out there.

As to nVidia...bah to them.
I never liked nVidia ;)

Shiva...it's not that people are poo pooing Creative for their products. it's their practices. what have the offered customers that has been truly new in years? In my mind i can't stand creative because not only did the bully and kill one of the most innovative companies in the audio card industry, Aureal, but they have done almost nothing for like 3 years but offer the same old stuff with flashy new packaging, bloated, buggy driver packs and bundled software. To use the worn out analogy (sp?), they are the M$ of sound cards. They can't handle a little competition. How's the saying go? they can dish it out, but they can't take it.

The new Creative Labs card will have SDMI, a digital "rights protection" scheme built right into the hardware. If you want to be told how you can use the music you download, this card is for you.

Well, Audigy...huh

I remember when I bought my sblive. It was so much advertised and so on I tried one (oem 25 bucks). The only bad thing is that it's not a good card, especially when you connect your card to a hifi sound system (not a crappy 5x50 cents worth paper cone speaker system) you check the sound quality: quiet, and noisy. They burnt 2 companies that offered much better pruducts the first was Gravis and then Aureal. Both were better at that time (actually I still prefer my Turtle beach quadzilla).
