I just got my CPU mag in today and I was reading about VIA's mobo that sports AGP8x and PCI express. Sounds great for long term upgrading!

Any info on this?

Not sure, but it was BUILT with the design to have BOTH AGP and PCIe.

ECS has a AGP and PCIe Intel 915 chipset board, BUT have said you will lose anywhere from 5-20% of performance using the AGP port as the 915 chipset does not TRUELLY support AGP.

So it looks like VIA may have a upper hand on the next chipset when the new P4 chips come out.

Hey! Wasn't there an article here on the anandtech home page a couple of hours ago about Gigabyte pulling their dual AGP/PCIE from their display?!?!

Yea, but ECS told peopel what they were dosing and fromt eh sound sof it I was in line that ANY (915 - 925) NEW intel 775 P4 chipset will not TRUELLY support AGP.

So VIA might be able to get some new customers real fast when the 775 chipset comes out.
