Anyone know when 8x DVD-R Burners are coming out?

16x next year, definitely. Hitachi is working on it right now.

8x, I haven't heard anything about. I wouldn't doubt we'll see them by the end of the year though.

I want to get a dvd-r/rw burner but still thought they were too expensive. I heard Lite-on is coming out with some burners. I dont know the speed tho.
