Radeon 8500 R200 Non-Qualification Sample card 64mb or 32mb? I dunno...

Here is the sticker on the back.

I have since added a fan to the heatsink. It works fine in safe mode or VGA mode, but I cannot find any drivers that work with it. I have tried all of the previous Catalyst driver versions, and some of them (about 4) recognize it as a "RADEON 8500 Series", but after re-boot, the display is weird colors and you can't make anything out (like static/snow). The original fan had a "Hercules" sticker on it, so maybe it is a Hercules card. It says R200 on the back, so I am guessing it is a Radeon 8500. I have tried all the Fire GL drivers on it, but they say it's not a Fire GL card. I have no idea what it is now...

If anyone knows, could you PM me with the info? Thanks!

It's extremely hard to tell without being able to see what the info on the RAM chips says, or how many RAM chips there are. If you can provide that info, it can be looked up online.

This is what it says on the RAM:

ESMT
M13L64164A- 4T
JZR1QB203 0102

There are 4 Chips on the front, and 2 chips on the back.

that is a 8500 allright, but its missing the rage theater chip or at least i think that is what is supposed to be in that socket that is missing. i think you got a prototype 8500 in your hands. btw, the memory chips look differant than a normal 8500 and the fans power point is not in line with the hercules board
