Anyone know what kind of wattage a 9700pro uses?

Not off hand, but you could always contact ATi corporate if you need to know ASAP.
They were more then willing to send me power dissipation data sheets for the R9000 awhile back when I needed such figures.
I do recall one site testing the idle/load power dissipation.... I'll see if I can dig up a link to it.

I think that its in the region of 60W. The 5800 uses 110W i think.

Dont quote me though.
