Anyone know what I should be looking for for a cosmetic label maker?

I am going to start selling a cosmetic. Don't want to be more specific than that. And I want a sweet, glossy label on there. Not just some plain paper looking label. Do I need a special label maker for this? Or can I just buy some glossy blank labels and run them through a laser printer? I have no idea what to do here. Just want to make some good looking labels, so it feels quality.

Thanks for any help.

What type of cosmetic? At least as far as packaging type.

And if this turns into some troll thread about some nut rejuvenating cream, I'm going to be slightly disappointed. But only slightly. :D

Thanks Crono. It will be a small cylinder like bottle. Probably 2 oz bottles. No no, no nut rejuvenating cream here. :)

Magnus, when you say "premade" labels, do you mean just blank labels I take it? That come glossy? A laser printer can just print on the gloss? Will it look professional (assuming I use a decent laser printer)?

Thanks!

Yes and yes. The font makes the difference.

Agree, but I'll also add that matt labels can look very sophisticated, and even more "premium" than glossy. The hard part is the font, and graphic design. Graphic design really is an art. An amateur can throw all the correct elements together, and it'll still look like an amateur did it. Quality design makes all the difference. I can't do it, but I know it when I see it.

edit:
for an example of a quality matt label, look at hendricks gin. Rough paper, soft tones, and pure class. They had a great graphics designer.

OP, post the name and product type here. I'm not a graphic designer, but could have a go at designing the label if you want.
