Atomic Rhino, the network that hosts Gideon Tech, is having some unknown problems at this time. I can't get my gideontech email (even though it goes through mail.atomicrhino.com, and not gideontech.com), the IRC server is down, and so is the webside. I haven't heard from GideonX yet, and the only contact information is his @gideontech.com email address. I'll PM him and see if he knows what's going on.

hey guys...just got an email from ARN...seems that there was a security problem with the server so it went down. The admin has told me that it should be back up within a day or so. Cross your fingers, or else we're going to have to move to another host

I hate to say this, but if your site has already been down for a few days, and all you can get is, "should be back up within a day or so", it IS time to get a new host. It is completely inexcusable for a mission critical system to be down that long. A day maybe, but that's it.

These are the two hosts that I use:

The first I have been with for about 3 years and I can count on one hand the total number of hours of downtime. They are probably the single best site hosting company in the world, but they aren't the cheapest. I have two sites with them.

The second I've been with since November last year. They had some growing pains earlier this year that caused a few problems but, even then, I never saw an outage last more than about half a day. Things have been smooth since. They are less expensive than the first and have a variety of packages. I have two sites with them.

I also have a site with US West, but that's part of my Office Works package.

Darkripper - i can't check my mail cuz the server is down...so all the entries on on there I'll choose one as soon as it comes back up.

It's nice to read about people's concerns on a growing site like GideonTech...(I was beginning to worry about it, myself).
