Anyone know what happened on I-87/I-287 in NY yesterday?

Yesterday's commute was horrendous because something happened on I-87/I-287 somewhere before the tappan zee bridge in westchester. The news kept talkign about the 8 or 9 mile stretch of traffic but never once even hinted why it happened. I think the whole road was closed there.

Anyone know what happened?

Yeah yeah, you CA'ians can save your "we wish we had traffic that light" comments for another day

My wife's family lives in the Syracuse area.. so im travelling up there alot..

love the site... without it.. never woulda found out that all Rest Area's provide WiFi
