Hi guys,

I am looking for a video if anyone know about a prototype car that turn its body in the direction of turning, but the wheels stay in the ground, so however fast you drive, the car's wheels wont lifted from the ground since the body which turn/rotates compensates for the acceleration during turning.

The prototype only sit for 2 person (front and back like in motorcycle). If I'm not mistaken the car was designed by a netherland company (not sure...)
I saw the video somewhere, but could remember where, just want to show my fellow ME friends about the design.

Thanks for any help you guys provide
Cheers

are you talking about the car/motorcycle thing that has retractable wheels that come up after the car reaches a certian speed and it drives much like an enclosed motorcycle after that?

i saw it on discovery science a little while on "beyond tomorrow" i think...dunno where to find it online though...try discovery.com and see if you can find an episode listing for that show...i'm almost certian it was that one

assuming that's what you're talking about, that is

That idea shoulds pretty dangerous. Because it compensates for the body's feeling of acceleration outwards, people will mistake that as the car being able to turn curves at higher speeds. Tires slip due to excessive lateral force from high-speed turn, design goes down the crapper.

no, the video that i saw was not done by Mercedes, im sure of it, cause if it was I'd would have remember it, but thanks for all the input. I'll continue searching the video that i saw long time ago.
The design for the car that i saw was much better than the mercedes ones. I'll try to find that video and put the link up here

Cheers

There was one of them on top gear i think. or some other kinda show. it wasn't a mercedes, it was orange i think, had two wheels at the back, one at the front, and lent in much the same way.
