Anyone know the torque specs for a 2003 Sunfire brake caliper?

I have a minor job for a co-worker that just came up. He doesn't want to deal with a mechanic and just needs some pads. They said his rotors were fine already.

I can do the job, but I can't find the proper torque specs anywhere. I'd rather torque it to spec than use a similar car's numbers.

I know that there are torque specs for just about everything on a car, but I have probably done over a thousand brake jobs and never once have I torqued the calipers....
just make them tight.

Found the specs on Autozone...I was looking last night, but I was rather intoxicated If anyone hasn't checked out their repair manuals they are pretty good. Not on the level of a factory service manual, but most of us don't have access to more than one or two of those.

38 lb-ft for the calipers and you need a 3/8" hex key to do it. I used a 3/8" crowfoot on my torque wrench to make sure.

I don't go by 'tight' on brakes especially when I am mostly used to working on aluminum calipers. It's pretty easy to make it not too tight and fuck up the threads.

I am a real believer in properly torquing everything. It's a simple last step and guarantees proper assembly.
