I was #11 on the finalists list.

and the reason I'm trying to find this fireman/elephant pic is to prove that some of the winners cheated and clearly broke rules. The #6 rule of the contest says that you cannot use a third party image in any sense and submit it. You must submit original work, and if you submit a 3rd party image or altered one and submitted it, its not considered original.

So far, I have found 13 links to pics that people on the winners list submitted, clearly breaking the rules. Now I'm #11 on the winners list, and the Hex people told me the winners list is in order. So if someone gets bumped from the winners list, the top person on the finalists list becomes a winner and everyone moves up 1 spot.

So clearly as you can see, if these 13 people were DQ'ed already, I would be a winner, which is why I'm really disapointed now. I have been emailing them and provided them links to all 13 of the original photos and their corresponding submisisons. I've heard back from them saying they are still investigating the winners, and as of now, there still are no official winners until everything is verified and meets criteria.

So I still have some hope I guess. For being a finalist I got an invitation for me + 1 to the zero hour event, but thats only the invitation. We have to pay for flight/board if we wanna go, so I won't be using those. I still have some hope that I may prevail a winner ...
 
wow, that's an interesting turn of events.

i hope everything gets sorted out. in all honesty, your submission was the best out of the ~50 or so i viewed one day when i was VERY VERY bored. 😀
