I'd say not a lot. There are better overnight jobs, to be sure. If you take the job, be sure to keep looking for other opportunities.

I made $7.50 when I did it.

I was 16, working full time. Put me in the best shape of my life, throwing freight will do that to you.

:D

I left that job for the job I'm at now, & I now make close to double that.

But part of me wishes I was still doing it, I miss the 1-2 hour workout every night, & I miss the people. :(

if you own a car, you can deliver newspaper. Good pay and very easy job.

Depends on the store and experience....last year I did overnights at Office Max and got paid $9 an hour. Of course that included working 3000+ piece trucks (3 guys including me) and pulling one night a 17 hour shift

I worked a Class A Target, during Christmas we would get over 4000 pieces a night (two trucks). I fought for the position of being in the truck because I loved the workout.

But working it all afterwards sucked.

Vip - that musta sucked. But Target has a lot of people working though right? (I went to an interview there...they said they usually have 150 people working overnights - this was at a Super Target though) 3 people working 3000 pieces in one night really sucks. It helped keep me in shape though. (Not as much as when I worked at UPS though)

Where do you live?
You may be able to do better working for UPS, USPS, FedEx, or a major trucking company.

The packages might be heavier than computer parts though!

I worked the night shift at a major auto parts distributor, in one of their larger warehouses and made $9.00 an hour to start, with a 50 cent per hour raise when I got licensed on the fork lift, then another 50 cent per hour raise after one year. That was two years ago and I'm not sure what a department store would pay.

One thing, I got back into shape and lost 10lbs. When you break-down and stock 24 pallets of brake rotors and drums, or 2 pallets of crankshafts, or 12 pallets of floor jacks, or...you get the idea.

One Hundred and Fifty people for an overnight crew atTarget!! Get real. The Target I used to work for was lucky if we had 12 people unload the trucks.:disgust:

If you can go to your Super Target and confirm otherwise with the manager I stand by what I say.
