If you want a challenge(depending on your linux experience) setup a server to use Linux for sharing your net connection. It should be far superior to Win98se sharing, perhaps even add an FTP site to that server. So you can share files with your friends across your server.

RC5 or SETI, either will test your systems for stability and proper cooling(hard-drive, CPU, system, etc) and have some fun Cracking numbers...

Setup your server to host a game or (2) of dedicated server deathmatch with a few friends...

Setup a server with security protection, and see if your friends can hack into it?

I would definitely recommend setting up the server with Win2k. Gads, I couldn't believe how easy it made networking my computers and setting up Internet sharing on my DSL. Win2k has simplified much and reduced the need to reboot to virtually nil.

Win2k is nice, but if you want something that is a challenge then setup linux and play around with that 🙂

Yes, run RC5, SETI or OGR.

I learned a lot about networking, ports, firewalls etc. by cracking.

Win2K and or Linux boxes should be your front line. Heck, play with 'em both.
