So I got an email from my manager saying that the department has some Microsoft training vouchers and that they will be doled out on a first come first serve basis...I looked through the catalog and picked two that dealt with supporting Windows XP, lame I know but they are required for the Microsoft Certified Desktop Technician, again lame IMHO but my new department has this whole "no training for the sake of training" thing..
I figured since I am a Windows tech that these would be approved, however I missed the spot that said these were geared towards people just entering the field, so the higher level manager was like WTF....
So now I am wondering what other courses to consdier that are more advanced but also might be practically applicable.
I kinda feel like they offer this training but then discourage you from taking it as they won't approve a class unless you or the company benefits from your training...all of the stuff I would like to do (CPM, MCSE, or ITIL) have virtually nothing to do with my current position and with the re-org advancement is limited....
Any expereince with MS courses that are good would be appreciated.
