I think Rollo said you can get one for $399 at Chumbo.com, so give there a try.

Heh, you have to damn near get to Fry's when they open to find one that hasn't been opened and returned. I went to 3 Fry's this morning, saw 1 unopened PNY. :(

Well, I opened and returned a BFG. Don't know what everyone's talking about about but the 2D quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Anyway, I hear Chumbo is the second biggest outlet for BFG cards other than BB and they're shipping new stock weekly so if you can order and wait a week or two you'll likely have a card in your hands. Otherwise check newegg, zzf, and pricewatch.

www.evga.com $399
You can buy the card now, it's in stock. After registering it, they have a deal where you can get the Ultra for the price difference and shipping when they become available in a trade up program.
Great Idea :)

They are actually out of stock and have been for most of this past weekend.

The topic is asking for BFG not eVGA.

Same reference card, same cooler,
the difference is the warrenty, but frankly no one buying a GT today will probably have it for a year anyway so the point is moot.

So a correct reply to your post would be none anywhere.

The topic is specifically for BFG. I don't understand why you don't understand that? You may be happy with the eVGA, but I want the 24/7 tech support.

And you make some assumption about how long I will use my hardware? Give me a break.

Oh I see you're expecting trouble, that makes all the difference in the world.
Carry on!

Exactly! This motherboard I have (Tyan 2885) has lots of problems with video cards. I've actually only seen one video card work correctly in it.

I think I'm just going to BB and prepay for one and just have them call me when it comes in.

I tried really hard to find an alternative to that Tyan board, but there wasn't one. And I still don't think there is.

There just isn't a lot of selections for Dual Opteron AGP motherboards. Expecially if you want PCIX slots. I use a 3ware 9000 series to do raid 5 so that was important. :)

Went to BB today and they wouldn't let me prepay or preorder (whatever you want to call it). They also said that they had not had any of the 6800 series yet. Basially I'll just have to call everyday at 1PM and ask... Or maybe one of the online retailers will get some in.

I already replied to something like this in the gen forum but I was at Frys in Burbank CA Saturday. There were two *buried* GTs that I dug out. One for a guy who didn't know much about what he was buying and the other just sat in my hands until I decided to (slowly) put it back on the shelf. I figure that I can get a better deal than $400 right now (especially seeing as how I would have to pay 33 dollars in tax if I bought it a Frys).
