Anyone know of any running forums?

Hi,

I've pretty much run through my current New Balance 992's (over 150+ miles since 8/19) and since I've had them since May, I'd say I've put on many, many, more. Anyway, I need some new kicks and would like to get some general opinions on some shoes. I've done some Googling but I don't get much in the way of user opinions or the occasional 'review' which is more like one of those Maxim-style blurbs that are near worthless. If anyone knows of any good shoe websites or forums, could you please link me?

Oh, and as for the shoes, I guess I could get another pair of 992's, or I was also thinking of:

Nike Air Max 360

or

ASICS Gel-Kinsei

As FYI, I have flat ass feet. but I do have custom, UCLA made insoles 😉

If you truely have flat feet, you want a stability/motion control shoe.

Look at the Nike Structure, the Asics Kayano or GT2110 or Mizuno Wave Control. The Gel Evolution is the "uber" motion control shoe by Asics.

Reviews for shoes suck. Everyones feet are so different and people have different ideas of what is good and what isn't.

People tend to buy one brand and stick with it because it works for them. For me it's Nike with a switch up of Asics every now and then. For others it's new balance or adidas.

Bottom line is to just get your butt to a store and see what one feels good. Start by limiting by foot/running type (pronator, supinator, neutral) and from there start going by feel.

A good fit will feel good as soon as you slip the shoe on. If it doesn't feel good, don't buy it. It won't break in and feel better with time.

Thanks very much for the suggestions for specific shoes. What do you think of the Kinsei's?

I don't know if you've checked it out already but runnersworld.com has a gear review section, they go over all kinds of shoes, might give you some more ideas for shoes, but as vi_edit mentioned, get to a store and try on the shoes.

I tried on the Asics Kinsei's ad the 2110's and the Kinsei's were much, much better. They also cost, much more. I haven't been able to try Kayono's yet.
