SiSoft Sandra and PCMark are available... their pretty much absolutely worthless as HDD benchmarks though.
HD Tach and Atto ATTO's ExpressPro-Tools are passable if your only interested in testing transfer rate.
Neither are at all decent for testing seek times though, nor will either give you any indcation of real world performance.
WinBench 99 is getting older and is rather out-dated right now which is unfortunate but it's still easily the best free HDD benchmark for transfer rates, seek times, or real world app performance.
IOMeter is extremely good for it's intended purpose, but is awfully limited and completely in-capable of measuring desktop application performance. As a server application performance measurement it's top notch though. Inability to adjust access locality kills IOMeter as anything but a purely server oriented benchmark.
If your willing to pay for an extremely versatile testing suite then Intel's IPeak is extremely good.
