Anyone know of any good RAR password removers ?

I have a rar file that I need opened.

Passwords are usually site addresses, try to figure out all sites what can be fit.

PS: And to the software question, I don't know any working password remover software, hope some other can help you with that.

there are programs that will brute force the password to zips and rars, it will take a while depending on the length of the password.

Yes, and that's the reason why it's better to choose first trying to test all the site addresses what can be fit. It's safe time, because I think these softwares take much time to figure out password like the days to months.

I downloaded a rar password remover and it probably would have worked but it would crash if I asked it to search for passwords of longer than a couple characters and would have taken days or weeks to run anyways. Google worked much better. Phyone's suggestion is also a good place to start.

Look at elcomsoft [isn't free].

RAR & ACE passwords are the strongest and it can be slow [50-100 attemps per second using brute force].

As mentioned above - try social engineering or obtaining an easier to get password by the RAR creator and trying it on the RAR file [many people re-use passwords, use names of significant others, SS#'s, etc].

you can sometimes open rar files and the main file may be passworded but the smaller text files can be ripped out and figure out the name/info to go to find out the password

is there a program with the .rar called password.exe? If so then you can use a hex editor to get the password.
