I have an EMU sound card setup (EMU 1212M) that needs two PCI slots. I'd like to run SLI but all the boards I've looked at have at least one of the PCI slots right next to the 2nd PCI-e. Many of them seem to have the PCI sandwiched in between the PCI-e.
If anyone is familiar with a decent quality X58 board that has PCI slots that are seperated more from the PCI-e please let me know.
I could probably get away with running the EMU right next to the 2nd video card but in the interest of lower heat I'd prefer not to.

So far, I'm looking at this board:

MSI X58 Platinum SLI

They're single; a pair of 9600GTs. One's an EVGA and the shorter sound card clears the fan of it so they would fit OK but heat is generated from both so that kind of bothers me. They would be RIGHT next to each other.

From what I've seen, that's probably about the best I can do. Thanks

anyone else know of something feel free to chime in :)

A little off topic, but rip might be able to answer this...

I've been using an M-Audio Oxygen V2 with the rig in my sig, and the only way that I can get rid of the input latency via USB is to reduce the number of samples via the AISO driver for my X-Fi. The side effect of that is that I begin to lose sound quality whenever I reduce the number of samples too much. Also the best I can do is to reduce the input latency to 5ms. I'm by no means a pianist, but I like to use the keys sometimes to work out rhythms and beats. Would using an actual midi card like an E-MU 0404 PCI http://www.emu.com/products/pr...gory=491&product=10447 fix this issue?
