My wife really wants an old rotary style phone for some ungodly reason.

We recently installed an Ooma VOIP system, located in the kitchen, with a couple of cheapy AT&T 5.4Ghz phones. Our house isn't wired for phone, just CAT5 (yes, i know we can use the same wires, but all the outlets are wired for ethernet).

My preference would be to have a standalone phone that can connect via bluetooth to her iphone.

I see that Pyle has a couple of phones that can plug into the landline and also connect to the mobile phone via 3.5mm jack. you can easily receive the call on the rotary phone, but not make them - you have to use the mobile phone to dial, then switch it over to the rotary phone.

Anyone know of a rotary-style phone that can connect via BT?

That Pyle phone doesn't look like a real rotary phone either - just has the buttons in the arrangement of the old rotaries.

turns out you can buy something called bluetooth gateways to connect your home phone to your mobile via bluetooth connection.

apparently Xlink has a fair amount of good reviews on amazon. So, i picked up a replica antique phone + BT gateway.

they have another product (BTTN) that will connect your landline (or VOIP) + up to 3 mobile phones all together. pretty smooth.

LOL to that last link, as strange as people look talking on most BT headsets, that shit would be beyond strange to see in person. I mean if it works well, the concept's actually pretty cool, but the looks ugh.
