Anyone know of a way to hook a turn table up to my computer...

Hook your turntable to a receiver or integrated amp as usual and use an output from one of its tape monitor loops to connect to the Line In on your computer. That's it.

Or if your turntable is one with a built-in phono preamp, you can go directly into you sound card's line in.

You will probably have to get an RCA to 1/8" stereo male adapter to connect up to your sound card either way. Walmart, Radio Shack, etc. all carry those.

I also recommend Audacity software for recording and/or cleaning up your recordings - it's free from Sourceforge!

Audacity is a truly awesome example of QUALITY open source software.

I can attest to Zepper's solution - hardware and software. I have done it - not only with records, but with reel-to-reel tapes and cassette tapes. I used a small Radio Shack stereo amp and connected each of the various players to it's tape or record layer input, and then ran a patch from the amp's LINE OUT to my laptop's LINE IN, and with good software such as Sound Forge, I converted several dozen LPs to CDR. Likewise dozens of reel and cassette tapes.

It not only works, it's fun. 🙂

Wow, I find this product very intriguing. I have been wanting to convert my LPs to MP3 for a very long time and have just been too lazy to do it. This may actually get me off my butt to do it.Time for more research......

That entails the complete turntable. But, I wish that were around 6 years ago when I transcribed all my records to .WAV files. That was even pre-MP3! 🙂

Wow, you were really kicking it old school. Getting the entire entire turntable works for me, since I had to get rid of my old one about 5 years ago. I am seriously thinking about getting this, once I resolve the issues with my main rig.
