If you are concerned about data integrity, then use a program called CDCheck
http://fusion.zejn.si. You can use that to bit-by-bit compare a cd image to a cd in the drive (using Daemon Tools to mount the image
http://ww.daemon-tools.com). Should let you know if the cd drive is alright in terms of reading ability.
If you mean speed, then I don't really know of any programs to test that, might be best just to go with the old stopwatch.
