Formula Kartways. You need to purchase a license, have insurance, etc. It's out in the west end - I think Brampton. You are electronically timed. Each lap is about 30 seconds and it's quite expensive.
There's also a new one that my friend told me about. He rented out the whole place with his uncle and raced for 50 laps straight. He said the karts were faster and the track was more demanding - he was sore after the race and he works out regularly.
Is there a place to go that doesn't require insurance/license or anything? Just go there, pay the money and race for however long they let you. And that's the end of that.
I'll get the name of the above one from my friend. The next one is Goodwood and it's north of Toronto. I think racing series use it as an actual track. Haven't been there but have heard decent things about it. Basically, set aside a good $50 for karting. That should get you an afternoon's worth (or evening) of fun. And go with all your friends.
The insurance I'm talking about is your actual driver's insurance I think. Either that or they build their own insurance into the cost. I think for $20 at Formula Kartways you can get about 15 minutes of track time (it'll seem a lot longer).
Stay away from Mini Indy. The karts are dog slow and I got kicked out (and my friends) because we "were too competitive". You have to stop after each lap to give them a ticket. Formula Kartways have much faster karts and you can just race. When I get home tonight I can get you the address - don't think they have a web site. Actually they do have one.
Family Kartways is alright. The karts aren't fast but you get your money's worth with the long track. But they don't let you race well. Formula Kartway is 1/4 mile with really fast karts. There are no restrictions on passing as there are elsewhere. Go to google to access the cached website since it seems to be down.
Thanks for the info GL. Their cached page seems to be empty..but I got the contact page..so I'll call them up.
Kaiser: I was wondering if you knew about any new reggae/dancehall songs that are worth listening too. I remember form an earlier thread that your into reggae/dancehall.
