Anyone know of a media program that works with the Microsoft remote

I'm looking to put the final touches on my HTPC. One of the biggest pieces I need is a program that will categorize all of my media (videos, music, movies, etc..) and allow me to play it using the Microsoft remote.

Anyone have some suggestions?

Also what video player do you use? VLC, WMP, etc..?
