I tried to install ximian gnome 1.4 on my red hat 7.1 machine, and it worked nearly flawlessly. My only complaint was that it over wrote all of my menus with the default ximian menues. Is there a utility or an easy way to recover all of the menu entries that I had for software packages that I had installed and are not standard gnome menue entries (like star office for instance)?? I could use the gnome menue editor, and manually add back each of the programs I have, but that is a pain I would like to avoid. It seems to me that there should be an automated way of having gnome search the hard drive, and give me a list of all applications found that I could edit. I looked, but I saw no such utility in ximian gnome..am I just being dense (most likely) or does anyone have any tips?? Thanks in advance.
