Anyone know of A Good Video Editing Program?

Does anyone know of a good video editing program with low system requirements. This isnt for me specifically, but someone I know needs one, and their computer is not the newest thing on the block.

Windows Movie make should be fine. Hell they even have wmvhd-equivalent profiles for exporting:Q

Virtual dub is very powerful but then again quite limited.


Pinnacle Studio 9 is cheap and should work okay. It loves fast machiens though

as do all video editing programs.

Do your friend a favour and make them upgrade their PC. I'm assuming they only have a 1GHz processor. I can't imagine how long the encoding times will be if they plan to do any serious video editing.

id go with final cut pro or adobe premiere

Actually the editing shouldn't be bad with pretty low end hardware as long as you have enough memory to load the clips necessary. It's the rendering/encoding time that'll suck but that sort of stuff can be pushed in the background.

Yeah, RAM's a killer for video editing.

Pinnacle 9 (might have been 8) used up nearly 800 megs a few times on my system..ugh.
