Getting kinda tough to find something new to read. anyone know of any sites that would have something setup more like allmusic.com? ive been using amazon.com and its not terrible, but its definitely not the right tool for the job.

amazon.com doesn't do enough?

Usually seems to me that word of mouth is the best way to find out about non eletronic media.

Something interesting. Ive liked all the chuck pahulniak stuff ive read.

I guess i like action sort of books that are either very creative or very clever. I really appreciate clever writing.

completely burned out on politics/scifi

Keeping in mind im making an effort to get away from what i usually read, im going to omit all sci fi and political thriller stuff

oscar wilde
portrait of dorian grey... classic, very cleverly written.

Chuck Palahniuk
fight club and survivor... insanely original story ideas. and overall good reads.

Charles Bukowski
post office... I found his ultra irreverance and humor really entertaining and oddly have no desire to read another bukowski book despite the fact that i tore through this one laughing all the way.

amazon.com really is just a pretty poor site for reasearch. it takes way too long to simply determine from an authors name, what is their genre and best work.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's any site out there that list books in the "very creative or very clever action" genre. Sorry. :(
