Anyone know of a good, freeware (or shareware) program that could cut a large .avi into 2 files?

I have a 900MB .avi file that I need to cut in half so I can fit it onto two disks. Anyone know of a good program that does what I'm looking for?

try virtualdub

and if it works, let me know!

i need to break up an approx. 900 meg file too, but haven't gotten around to playing with the program yet. i was *told* it could do it though.
 
Yes, virtuadub will work fine. It's easy to use, just make sure you set the video to "direct stream copy" and everything else you should be able to figure out on your own.
