Are you a freshman?
There's no magic skill "test" that will tell you what you're best at.

Pick a major according to this:

1) What are you good at? (writing, math, music, acting etc)
2) What subjects interest you most?
3) What current skills / hobbies / interests do you have?

The only way to pick a major is to keep trying courses in different fields of study until you find the one you like the most, or hate the least as it may be. I LOVED movies and cinema. I went to USC hellbent on studying to become a film editor. I left 5 years later with a degree in Psychology, after burning through courses in Computer Science, Business, Theater, Music, and Philosophy. You never know what you "click" in until you try.

yes. i am a freshman ... starting my sophomore year this fall, but i basically wasted two semesters since i followed the tracking courses for a mojor i don't want to do.
So.. basically, i will be a freshman again

i regret SO badly not taking general classes last and this semester to see what my interests are..... i think it might be too late for that now so i need to choose a major

Most majors have 4-5 semesters full of major requisite courses, so technically you could wait as late as your Junior year to pick a major, but then you don't have the luxury of peppering your curriculum with easy GE's to soften the blow of upper division courses.

I waited WAY too late to choose a major and ended up taking 4 straight semesters of psych classes / stats / language. That was brutal.

Also, keep in mind that many universities let you audition classes. Talk to others too and see what they think of particular majors.

Related question:

I am currently in my final quarter of Sophomore year. I am majoring in Philosophy. I think I would rather major in History and Minor in Philosophy. What would you all reccomend? Should I stick with Philosophy (I like it somewhat) and minor in History instead of major in it?

Thanks :)

When i was a sophmore we took a few personality test things that said what majors and careers we would be good in, we also took this thing that showed what kind of position we were made for like a leader, follower, field marshall.... intresting stuff.

I don't think you should determine what you might be doing for the rest of your college years studying (not to mention perhaps doing for the rest of your life) based on an online quiz. Talk to people, counselors, and attend classes to see for yourself if the major fits you or not.

Online quizzes are bad anyways, they never provide the right responses: i.e. "29. If you answered "yes" to the last question, would you rather watch TV or play basketball on a Friday night?" (well.. what if i answered no to the last question)

Despite what some people would have you believe, all your answers cannot be found on the internet. Do what amnesiac suggested; take courses to find out what you want to do. There's really no other way. No one's gonna wave a magic wand over your head and hand you your destiny.
