Anyone know of a good article about setting up a LAN for a rookie?

I have 2 systems, each with a nic card connected to a hub. I have cable, and I'm wondering how I can share that connection without getting a router. Also, I would like to be able to share files and a printer. Would greatly appreciate it if someone could point me to a few articles. Thanks 🙂
