I want to have a mic to monitor a room in my house, it should be either wireless g or b or ethernet, omnidirectional, and be able to be accessed (recorded to) by a computer on my network preferably web page based.
I have done searches but all they turn up is cameras and I just need a mic.
Also encryption would be nice.
Does anyone know where I can find the plans to buid such device?
Thanks

does anyone know where I can buy this ready made if not a plan for it? Forget the ethernet thing, I just want to be able to record from it directly to a PC.

The easiest way to do this is with a mic that transmits on FM. They are small, coin size and you can use any fm radio to pick up the signal, connect that to the pc sound card. The other way of doing it is with an embedded micro + wifi stack , and that isn't going to be cheap or easy for a beginner, think $30 for the micro board, $30 for wifi + stack, $10 for mic parts = $70 + time to get it working.

Fm mic transmitters cost about $15

in the same house? you could probably run a few hundred feet of 2 conductor cable to a mic and be okay and from there it would be all software

yes in the same house and it is wired for ethernet.
I have plans for an FM tranmitter+mic, I have built them before.
It does not suit my needs.
I need something that transmits wireless G or B and can be accessed through my PC.
power source is not a problem
