Anyone know of a decent system backup program?

Preferably free of course.

MS Backup built into windows sucks. Sure it can back up the registry, but um, I can do that just by starting to make an emergency repair disk then including the \WINNT\Repair directory in my backup archive... Any backup program that still doesn't use compression unless its a feature of your tape drive or something and still wants to use floppies in 2003 is junk IMO.

I would like to get a good backup program with the following features:

1. Backup to DVD, or at least DVD size segments that I can copy to DVD.
2. Reasonable compression & speed. Nero fails miserably on these points.
3. Excludes windows paging files and web cache and the like on all partitions by default.

Right now it's looking like the closest think to a decent backup program is WinRAR or 7-zip from command line. Can that really be the case?

Unfortunately this has the same problem as Nero if your drive has hundreds of thousands of files from stuff like Visual Studio, cygwin, and the thousands of files other development tools come with.

I added the C:\ directory and it has been adding files to the list to archive and hasn't returned control so I can select what to exclude yet for the past hour.
