anyone know kyb shocks warranty?

my car is starting to get a bit bouncy. They aren't blown, but just worn out. My car is lowered 2 inches.. maybe 2.5 at absolute most. Any idea if agx offers any kind of warranty? They are kyb agx adjustables..

they don't warrant for over 1.5" from what I recall. agx are not good shocks imo for adjustable shocks.

get some koni sports, or spring for some moton or penske external resivoir adjustable shocks (these are reeeeeeeeeeeealy expensive).

bilstein makes good shocks, but they are not adjustable.

2-2.5 inches is quite a bit from stock. for that, you'd ideally want a shortened shock body and a shorter piston for more shock travel or you will wear out your shocks faster. you still need to use bump stops to protect your shocks from bottoming out.

edit: what kind of car and what kind of spring or coilovers?

hmm... don't get me wrong, this is just a guess -but I'm guessing... just GUESSING... that the company that makes KYB shocks probably knows what their return policy is.

It is lifetime warranty(car lifetime).

I bought one as factory replacement for the reason of lifetime warranty. However, in my case I don't lower or rice my car at all so there may be a different there.

KYB is usually barely above OEM quality, in my experience (from what I've read). Doesn't surprise me in the least bit that you're having problems.

I'm using ground control coilover's with the shocks that ground control suggested. I have nismo bumpstops and motivational rear mounts. After considering what it was at before, it might be closer to 2 - 1.5 inches less than stock.

i wouldn't use ground control's reccomendation of the agx shocks with the coilovers, agx are not up to the task of the ground control coilovers (especially if the springs have substantially higher rates than stock), imo. agx like someone mentioned are more of a stock replacement type of shock with dampening adjustablility.

koni sports have been tested on a shock dyno to be much better than agx shocks. koni on their softest setting equal what bilsteins are at nonadjustability(which means that the two companies actually agree on what they feel should be the stock rates for the dampers). the konis cost more, but are worth it.

as for the warranty for the agx, like i mentioned before, i don't think they warrant any lowering if it is over 1.5" if you want to stick with the ax, i guess you could since they are cheap enough to replace, where as you could get rebuild on koni's if they ever wear out.
