Anyone know Internet Security Systems (www.iss.net)?

I went to an info session for these guys tonight and found their policy to be quite unusual. They are a dot com that survived apparently. They claim to have massive market share and many other broad claims but the IT professionals I talked to have never used their products or even heard of them. To further make things unusual, they say that they won't hire in for a development or research type position until you have worked in tech support answering phones. I have never heard of a policy like that. I have to admit I was pretty close to telling them to cancel my interview.

They've never heard of BlackIce? That's pretty lame. I think the original company was bought by ISS.

Yeah. I have heard of BlackIce. I found it to be one of those pieces of software when the proliferation of personal firewalls came out that really sucked. I went through the log and it reported all sorts of threats that really weren't threats at all. That is my only familiarity with them. I forgot they mentioned that.
