If I send or forward an email to another email address (email address where the technology is linked to), it automatically extracts the contents of that email and "posts" it somewhere on a website that people can view?

It can be done. A website can have a "cron job" or "pipe" so that script code gets the results of your email and does something with it.

Help desk software that accepts tickets by email works this way. The email gets converted to a support ticket and is added to the database for the help desk.

Do you know where I can find the script code? I want to look into options for my website.
Anything that is easy to implement?

There are a number of commercial solutions for automated email handling, including extract, transform, and store operations to support the kind of functionality you're describing. For a limited implementation it wouldn't be that difficult to do in-house.
