Anyone know if there was a car/motorcycle chase on Rt. 84 in Connecticut yesterday?

Yesterday around 5:30pm I was heading into Hartford to see the Stone Temple Pilots play at the Family Values Tour at the Hartford Civic Center. Anyway we were on 84 west, about 20 miles east of Hartford when all of a sudden a cop car passes everyone and stops in the road, the officer jumps out and stops the traffic, we were the 2nd car in. So a few seconds later about 20 state police cars are coming at us going the wrong way down 84, everyone got out of their way and made a path for them to get through. My friend says he saw them following a motorcyle, I didn't see it though. Anyone hear about what happened? Just curious.....
