WiFi AC should be faster but I think a great deal will depend on the rangeyou plan on networking over. It will also depend if you own the infrastructure, if not you may be using a faster technology but will be at the mercy of shared bandwidth or traffic controls by the network owner.
I'm assuming you're asking because you're looking for an on-the-go internet connection so you don't have to try to find some sort of public wifi.
In which case you are at the mercy of the cell phone companies. In the US 4G LTE is the best it gets, and with any cellular service its quality varies based on reception in the area you are in.
