Anyone know if there is a good left hand optical-mouse?

I really want to get my sister an awesome laser mouse because her current one is horrible. I'd like to get a wireless keyboard, mouse combo, but stand-alone mouse would also be highly useful

do south-paw opticals exist?

Or a mouse that works well both ways? All the ones I have are extremely right handed...MS explorer 3.0 and MX700 are quite slanted

My MX300 is ambidextrous and I love it. Only $20 at Newegg I think. Has the same optical system as the MX500\700.

WOO! Another recommendation for the MX300. I looove mine. Don't forget to take that weight out of it!

EDIT: Oh, wireless hmm. Don't know of one off-hand. (No pun intended.)

http://www.newegg.com/app/manufactory.asp?catalog=63&DEPA=1
go there and check out both microsoft and logitech... both have a few options that have a wireless mouse and keyboard, then look at the pictures to find one that a lefty could use... (it seems to me that the cheaper mice are more often able to be used together, so look at the cheaper bundles...) the search feature is also there on newegg's site on the left, it doesn't pick up all the possible products so i suggest browsing through, i found about 5 that should work in a couple of minutes. also if you find what you want you don't have to buy from newegg...
logitech's site http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=products/productlist&crid=483&countryid=19&languageid=1
ms's site http://www.microsoft.com/products/info/list.aspx?view=22&pcid=21914f2f-9f33-40b8-99d8-95db59afa8bd&type=ctg
those should list their products and you can get them from anywhere you want...

Josh

Edit: put up logitech's USA site instead of Canada... unless you wanted to see the MSRP prices in canadian dollars...

You could buy her a right handed kb-mouse wireless combo and tell her to learn like the rest of us.

<lefty who learned how to use a keyboard and a mouse, as well as things like gamepads and joysticks just like a normal person>

I use right handed mice and always have, and I'm a lefty.

Kensington do nice opticals which can be used left or right (they're basically symmetrical)
I've had a Mouse-in-a-box Optical Pro and Optical Elite and both are nice mice.
And they do Mac or PC, and USB or PS/2, and have a 5 year warranty :)

yeah she uses right handers just fine, but she wants to use a left anyways. Back off. Its got nothing to do with abilities, and all about preference.

you guys seem extremely bitter.

My Logitech Cordless Click! Plus mouse is great for both hands. I am right handed, but when I put it in my left hand, it still felt very comfortable. I would definetly recommend this mouse for you.

I'm Left-handed but still mouse with my right hand. It's actually more "natural" for me to mouse with my right than left. Maybe I'm just weird.:)

To answer your question mp614, I use a Logitech wheelmouse optical(The blue one) and it is completely ambidextrous.
