To support >DDR333?

Would like to build a MP system but 266 feels a bit slow these days.

The speed gained from PC266-2033 to PC333-2533 isn't as much as you might think ... and besides, with Hammer just round the corner, I doubt AMD will respin their 762 north bridge chip for dual Athlons.

So either go ahead and build your MP rig with 760MPX as it is, or sit still and wait for Hammer solutions.

The 760MPX board does not support 333Fsb so running the Ram at 333Mhz and the cpus at 266 would have alatency issue and probable make it less stable.

I run Dual 1600+'s on a 760MPX board with 768Mg of Reg. ECC Ram and it is fast as I do a lot of multitasking, like playing music and games or running Norton in teh background and doing something else.

But if you want a gaming computer get a KT333 with a 8235 South bridge or a KT400

Last I heard Hammer was pushed back a year and since AMD apparently intends to go with the Athlons for a while after it is launched I thought the MPs whould be keept up to pace.

I might not gain much form a higher FSB speed but I would feel better :)
