Anyone know if Nikon offers a professional cleaning service?

Need to get my D70 professionally cleaned, looks like the Sensor, Mirror, and Eyepiece could use a good cleaning and I don't trust myself to do a good enough job, would rather pay a professional...

Any idea if they offer such a service?

Probably. When I sent my CP5700 in for the CCD replacement, they took it completely apart and cleaned it while they had it...and a very nice job they did...

They cleaned mine at no charge. I guess they had it so far apart for the repair, that they did it as a service to me. It came back looking like new.(except for the occasional scratch and ding from me) Took about 2 weeks round trip, including shipping time to SoCal...

You might want to check the terms of the Nikon warranty. My Olympus DSLR warranty comes with one free professional cleaning. The Nikon warranty might come with something like that.

My Canon 30D came with some sensor dust. A good blowing with a rocket blower cleared it up pretty good though. Not perfect but it's only noticeable when stopped down all the way.

Have you tried those liquid kits with the swabs? I've seen some around but have never tried. I'm paranoid about dust, and I've only had minor problems so far (even at the beach!).

Read around Fred Miranda and Photography-on-the-net. There are tons of threads on sensor cleaning.
I am fortunate enough to work 5 minutes away from Canon's Irvine repair center. I can drop off lenses and cameras for cleaning and calibration and pick it up a day or two later.
I have heard bad and good stories about Nikon customer support. But that can happen with Canon if you are on the east cost (NJ repair center has mixed feedback), and the Canadian Canon repair is also know to be mixed.
