Anyone know if it's possible to flash my A7N266-E's bios without a floppy disk?

Or do I still need to use the floppy drive in order to do this?

Also what are the proper steps to do this? My A7N266-E does not fully shut down when I shut down my computer. And it doesn't reboot properly either. It'll hang at the "Windows has shut down" screen.

So shouldn't this also be a motherboard problem? I would try testing your memory with MemTest86 (do a Google).

I've tried various sticks of ram it happens all the time no matter which stick I have in there.

ASUSupdate is the utility you need to do a bios update - it should be on your mobo cd. With some searching you may be able to find it on ASUS's website maze. The chances of you finding it there though seem to be minimal now - their new setup stinks.

What OS are you using - Win98?
Shutdown bug

Strangely enough deleting all the trash by using the "disk cleanup" can solve this problem too at times.

Have you tried running scandisk on your drive? Have you done a virus and spyware scan?

This might require a reinstallation of Windows. I don't know if you know this but you never install Windows on an overclocked system, stock speeds for everything only.
