anyone know if Abit has plans for a SA6R without the onboard audio/video

maxcom,
I'm pretty sure the SA6R doesn't have on board video. As for the integrated audio, it is part of the Intel i815EP chipset so I doubt that it will ever be available without the on board sound.

The 82815 Graphic and Memory Controller Hub (GMCH), which is the core of the i815 chipset, sits to the left of the CPU socket. It features integrated i752-based 3D video.

thought this meant it did

current sa6r does come with onboard sound and vid...
but in my opinion it's not a terrible thing... it easily is de-activated in bios and doesn't really affect the machine at all, i have one and i am still able to clock @ 150 FSB with no problems whatsoever... as a small plus, if you ever decide to change vid cards or something, you can always go a few days on the onboard while waiting for the new one...

Supradude is right on the money. I have SA6R and am just waiting to get the SA6R-1394 when it hits the street. Does anyone know the first ship date on this board, or the MSI 815E Master-S? Both of these have been announced and displayed at the shows, but no Street date...

I made an Abit SE6 system and used a separate audio and video card. All I had to do is disable it in the bios. It works perfect without any conflicts.🙂
