Anyone know if a V5 5500 will work with Win XP?

2D office apps/windows/games are fine. DX based games are fine.
XP does NOT have native drivers for the V5 under OpenGL however, so you'll need to use some third party OpenGL drivers.

I upgraded (and have since went back to 98SE) to XP and have a voodoo 5 5500. I did an upgrade with Max Payne and Unreal Tournament that worked fine in SE
Unreal tournament did not run, I received an error message about glide2x.dll (or something close to that) was not found. I tried to copy that file to the UT folder and Windows/System and N.G.
I could run the game at 640 x 480 but that was it. In Max Payne, I recevied an error that "insufficent video memory" even thought the V5 has 64 megs. I tried to change it from triple framing to double framing and it worked. Since so many other programs I have did not work or were not compatible I went back for now to S.E.
SOme things besides the games that did not work. PowerDVD, Nortons 2001, Paperport, Intel Web camera, Powerquest Second Chance, Nero

Hey thanks!

Okay dumb question. Counter-strike is OpenGl Right? If so, I would need to find some third-party Open GL Drivers. Have any idea where I could look? :) Or what to look for?

I don't play CounterStrike so I'm not sure what API it uses.
Personally, I use the 3dfx's own 1.03.00 Windows 2000 drivers under XP and it works beautifully in DX and 2D.
You might try posting another thread asking about OpenGL drivers for the V5 under XP.... I remember either 'Omega' or 'Crunchie' released some hacked 3dfx V5 drivers that would work under XP.
