Its the same thing for motorcycles..

I assume your not going to ride it in the winter.. if so (this will allow occasional rides).

1. Change the oil *use some cheap oil if your not going to use it in teh winter*
2. Fill fuel tank and Buy some stabil (its called stabil - can be found at pepboys, autozone, cks, wallyworld etc). Add it according to instruction.
3. Wash and clean the jetski and cover.
4. Take battery out and put it on a battery tender or keep it inside the house rather than outside

Your done... on a motorcycle the next step is to keep the wheels from touching the concrete, but you dont have wheels.

hope this helps.

What about draining the water from the engine? I'm not sure if a jet-ski even runs water through the enginer, but it if does, then you will probably need to drain the block.

I don't really know much about jet skis, but the general procedure for winterizing an engine is as follows:

I assume it's water cooled. Flush the coolant system, and refil it with a mixture of something that won't freeze.. Or maybe they don't have a coolant reservoir. I'm not sure.

Drain all the fuel out of everything. If that isn't an option, get some of that fuel stabilizer stuff, and add it as recomended.. you're supposed to run the engine for a bit, to make sure the treated fuel gets into all the lines and stuff.. Don't know if that will be possible though.

Take the sparkplug out of each cylinder, and carefully put about an ounce of clean engine oil into each hole.. turn the engine over by hand, or otherwise, a few times to distribute the oil in the cylinder.

Your engine should be safe until next use.

If the engine is 4-cycle, change the oil too.

I believe the cooling system is the large body of water you ride it in! And it pumps water from the lake through the engine but none will stay in it when its out of water.

A unlimited supply of coolant is so cool!!!!

I'm pretty sure that a jet ski uses the lake it's in as a coolant tank. Suck water up in front, spit out warm water in back. You don't need a radiator that way.

I know the coolant comes from the lake, but I also know that you have to drain the block on a boat with normal car engine. The engine is still pretty much full of water after you take the boat out of the lake. If you don't drain this water, then it can freeze and crack the block.
