I just downloaded the free 30 day trial of Alcohol 120. I just want my son to play his Jump Start games without having to insert the CD's and scratch them all to hell, that's all.

I created an image of one of the games on drive G: It was in .mdf format, is this wrong? If I click on the icon windows says it can't read it.
Am I supposed to install the game 1st and then create an image?

Also, his Kid Pilot CD has a decent scratch that I can't repair and keeps giving me errors when I try to make an image. This might explain why it keeps crashing when he plays it.

I'm trying to read the help section but in no way is it clear. Can anyone help? Much appreciated. Rob

First create an image of the CD, then load it using one of Alcohol's virtual drives. Then install the game from the virtual drive. That should make the program recognize the virtual drive as the CD drive which SHOULD have the CD in it, which will actually contain the image.

Personally, I would avoid alc120. The virtual drive drivers have caused countless problems for me.

I'd recommend a good freeware burner (ie cd burner xp), and the freeware virtual drive utility Daemon Tool. It hasn't caused any problems yet.
